X4: Foundations is a space sandbox by Egosoft, released in November 2018. Your journey begins with a single ship – trade, fight, explore and build your way to power as you grow from a lone pilot into the leader of a vast space empire, commanding fleets, managing resources and shaping the future of the galaxy.
The universe is fully simulated and constantly evolving: factions trade, build and wage war independently, reacting to your actions and to each other. Construct modular stations, establish trade networks and control entire production chains, take direct control of your ships in real-time combat or command whole fleets, and instigate war or broker peace through subterfuge and diplomacy. Major updates and expansions keep adding new systems, and Steam Workshop supports a thriving modding community.
