About A Storied Life: Tabitha

A Storied Life: Tabitha is a narrative puzzle game developed by Lab42 and published by Secret Mode. Steam release date: 14 April 2026.

After Tabitha's passing, her family asks you to clear out her home. Room by room you sort, pack and fit her belongings into boxes, and each object helps fill a gap in her water-damaged memoirs. Choosing the right words for each page gradually reveals the life of a woman who was far more adventurous than anyone expected. It is a calm, reflective game with tactile puzzles and a warm illustrated style, with occasional references to alcohol, tobacco and petty crime in her story.

The idea of learning about someone through the things they left behind was explored memorably in Gone Home, where an empty family house slowly gives up its secrets as you open drawers and read notes. A Space for the Unbound shares Tabitha's warmth and its focus on small, personal memories, wrapped in a coming-of-age story set in a small town. If the memoir angle is what moved you, Despelote is a gentle, semi-autobiographical look back at a childhood in Quito. And for more quiet puzzling inside a strange old house, Creaks swaps cardboard boxes for light switches and furniture that comes alive.
