Age of Darkness: Final Stand is a dark fantasy survival RTS developed and published by PlaySide, with its full release arriving on 15 January 2025. A kingdom has been consumed by a deadly fog, and the darkness that lives within it is an entity of pure evil that nobody fully understands. Only light and fire can keep it at bay, so you must illuminate, build and defend the last bastion of humanity against endless hordes of Nightmares.
Every day is a race to prepare for the night. You light up a rich, procedurally generated map to claim territory back from The Veil, a living death fog that conceals enemies and drains life from your troops. Gather resources, raise walls and towers, and train an army before each Death Night arrives. Elite Nightmares roam the land and drop precious Dark Essence when they fall, but hunting them is a dangerous gamble for any growing settlement.
When night comes, the SwarmTech technology lets the game render more than 70,000 enemy units on screen at one time, so waves of Spitters, Crushers and Wraiths crash against your defences. Malices place random afflictions on you during every Death Night, while surviving one lets you pick one of three Blessings. Heroes from three factions, The Order, Rebellion and Volatists, gain special abilities as they level up and can turn the tide of a desperate battle.
It is a strategy game for Windows with a campaign, Survival Mode and a team mode for two players. It runs on Windows 10 (64-bit) and supports 8 interface languages, including English with full audio, German, French, Polish, Russian and Spanish.
