About Turnbound
Turnbound is a strategic autobattler developed by 1TK and published by Gambit Digital, 1TK and Gamersky Games, released on 6 May 2026. The game is built around experimentation, theorycrafting and mastering the odds. You manage the inventory of a hero who is trapped inside a haunted board game and must outsmart the way to freedom. Each run is different from the last, with unique upgrades, combos and synergies that keep every attempt fresh, surprising and full of new ideas to try.
The central idea is competitive inventory management. Your hero carries a grid, and every tile you place has a cause-and-effect loop that influences the tiles around it. Weapons, items, armour, consumables and accessories all interact, so where you put something matters as much as what it is. A cloak with a taunt effect, for example, can protect nearby tiles, while other pieces boost their neighbours or trigger when something takes damage. Finding strong arrangements is the core puzzle of every run.
Each round begins with the Shop Phase. You pick, place or upgrade tiles in the most efficient way, and you can take as much time as you want to plan your build and manage your board. Trinkets unlock extra combos, and winning battles lets you upgrade your hero through a branching set of abilities. Rewards between rounds offer further choices, such as recovering resources or rerolling the shop for specific categories, so careful planning pays off again and again.
Battles are resolved automatically. Combat plays out from left to right and top to bottom across your grid, and you watch your choices succeed or fail against an opposing board. Helpful playback tools let you review every fight in detail, so you can understand exactly what happened and improve your arrangement before the next round. Every detail counts, and analysing the results is the key to making the most of the tiles the board offers you.
The opponents are the ghosts of other players. Each time you start a battle, you face a build left behind by a real player from the same chamber with the same number of shop rounds. When you leave a battle, your own build joins the matchmaking pool so someone else can face it later. This asynchronous PvP lets you compete at your own pace without waiting for anyone, and an internet connection is required to play. Leaderboards track the best results.
The board will not always give you what you want, so adapting is essential. You try new strategies, rethink your build when the shop surprises you and rely on a bit of luck when a risky plan is your only chance. Accessibility options include colour alternatives, a mouse-only option, custom volume controls and gameplay without timed input, and full controller support is available. Achievements and cloud saves are included as well, and the game also runs on macOS and Linux.
Turnbound runs on 64-bit Windows 10 with a 64-bit dual-core processor with SSE2, 4 GB of RAM and a Vulkan 1.0 compatible graphics card, and it needs only 500 MB of space plus a broadband connection. For anyone who enjoys deep strategy, clever item synergies and short, replayable runs, it is a stylish and inventive autobattler that rewards foresight, creativity and the courage to keep experimenting until your design outlives its ghostly rivals.
