About Castle Of Alchemists
Castle Of Alchemists is an action RPG and tower defence hybrid developed by the two-person studio Team Machiavelli and published together with IndieArk for Windows PC, released on 10 April 2025. You play as Bellator di Alchemia, an alchemically enhanced super soldier who is the first of his kind and the last line of defence for his home.
The castle has been overrun by relentless hordes from other worlds, and your task is to reclaim it piece by piece. Levels lead through the mines beneath the castle, the bustling forges of engineering and silent lecture halls that the alchemists have long abandoned, each one packed with waves of invaders.
Combat mixes direct action with planning. Bellator fights on the front line with crafted weapons while traps and towers placed beforehand thin out the incoming hordes. There are more than two dozen enemy types from different factions, each with their own abilities, so every wave asks you to adapt your defences.
Elemental synergies are at the heart of the strategy. More than ten conditions let you slow, stun, burn and freeze enemies, and smart combinations multiply their power: metal traps can be struck with electricity, oil can be set ablaze and acid puddles can be electrified to spread explosive poisonous gases.
Between battles you return to the alchemy laboratory to craft, mutate and train. Weapons and items come with randomised properties that only a super soldier can wield, while mutations and detailed skill trees let you shape Bellator’s abilities to suit your preferred style of play.
For extra challenge there are boss fights in special arenas, endless levels with never-ending hordes and an increased difficulty mode that offers greater rewards. The game features detailed pixel art, full controller support and a single-player campaign built around the motto that if enemies come by the thousands, they shall fall by the thousands.
