Aggelos is a retro action-adventure developed by Storybird Games and published by PQube and Look At My Game. Steam release date: 19 June 2018.
Inspired by the classic 16-bit action-adventures, Aggelos sends a young hero on a quest after he rescues a princess and learns that darkness is spreading across the kingdom of Lumen. You explore a connected world of forests, towers, caves, underwater ruins and castles, swinging a sword at enemies and earning experience to raise your stats. Collecting the four elemental essences grants new abilities that open previously blocked paths, rewarding backtracking to find hidden rooms, hearts and upgrades. Towns offer shops and characters to talk to, while dungeons end in boss fights against creatures such as giant dragons. Detailed pixel art and a chiptune-flavoured soundtrack complete the retro feel.
