About Alien Apocalypse

Alien Apocalypse is an open-world survival sandbox developed and published by Umbu Games. It entered Steam Early Access on 21 August 2026.

Nobody knows exactly how it began, only that civilisation has collapsed and the planet now belongs to invaders. You scavenge for food, craft tools and fortify shelters while hunger, thirst and exhaustion prove as dangerous as any creature. Alien technology lies scattered across crumbling city blocks and empty countryside; study it, reverse-engineer it and turn the invaders' own weapons against them, or build hybrid human-alien gear. The creatures think, learn and change, so no two encounters play out the same. Survive alone or team up in online co-op to share supplies and defend a base together.

  • Alien technology – reverse-engineer invader gear.

Crafting your way through a hostile world full of alien life is what Subnautica does best, swapping ruined cities for a vast ocean planet where you build bases and tools from what you salvage. Its follow-up Subnautica: Below Zero takes the same scavenge-and-craft survival to a frozen alien region with a more story-driven expedition. If fighting back against the invaders is the part that grabs you, XCOM: Enemy Unknown turns an alien invasion of Earth into tense turn-based tactics with a base to run and squads to upgrade. And for the long game of rebuilding after collapse, Surviving the Aftermath lets you guide a colony of survivors through a post-apocalyptic world while managing food, shelter and disasters.
