About Blood Omen 2: Legacy of Kain
Blood Omen 2: Legacy of Kain is a gothic action adventure developed by Crystal Dynamics and first released in March 2002, with the PC version arriving on the store in September 2013. Cast down from power by a mysterious warlord centuries ago, Kain reawakens in a world he barely recognises. His armies are slain and his vampire brethren nearly extinct, so Kain is one of the last of his kind. With an agenda of vengeance, he unleashes a wicked wrath to uncover the plot that threatens the land he seeks to conquer.
Combat sits at the heart of the adventure. You execute fierce attacks and brutal combos with battle-axes, swords and other heavy metal weaponry, picking up arms from fallen foes as you fight through the city. When weapon edges dull on bone and steel, you turn to your Dark Gifts such as berserk and stealth to exact your lethal will. Each gift opens new ways to approach a fight, from overwhelming enemies with raw speed to slipping past guards unseen before striking from the shadows.
Whether in pursuit of power or just for the thrill of the kill, Kain’s lust for blood drives him forward. You lead him through highly detailed environments of gothic nightmare, host to thieves, knights and demons of all sorts. Dark streets, grim halls and torch lit chambers set a heavy mood that matches the tale of betrayal and revenge. As one of the most memorable antiheroes of the era, Kain carries the story with his cold confidence and sharp words.
This entry sits within the wider Legacy of Kain saga, a series known for its dark fantasy world and rich storytelling. It is a single player experience fully voiced in English. It runs on Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 and supports English with full audio. The minimum setup needs a 1.8 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, a DirectX 7 compatible 3D graphics card and 2 GB of storage, so it runs well on almost any modern PC.
