About Galactic Civilizations IV
Galactic Civilizations IV is the newest entry in the award-winning space 4X strategy series. You take command of a civilisation that has just achieved faster-than-light travel and must guide it through a hostile universe: explore the galaxy, colonise worlds, shape cultures, form alliances, fight wars and pioneer new technologies.
This key delivers the Supernova Edition, which is the standard version of the game sold on Steam. It includes the base game together with the Supernova expansion, so you get the complete current experience in a single package.
Turns revolve around balancing growth and security. The Core World and Colony system lets you play tall with a few powerful worlds or wide with many developed planets, while a storyteller and a sophisticated AI strategist populate the galaxy with rivals that pursue their own agendas. You design starships in a detailed Ship Designer and can even describe a new species to have the game generate its lore, dialogue and portraits.
Matches can last under an hour or many weeks, and procedurally generated galaxies with events and rival civilisations ensure that no two campaigns play the same. Victory can come through conquest, cultural influence, diplomacy or difficult Galactic Challenges.
