HELLDIVERS Dive Harder Edition is the complete version of the hardcore cooperative twin-stick shooter developed by Arrowhead Game Studios, the Swedish team also known for its love of chaotic co-op. The game was published by PlayStation Publishing and released on Windows on 7 December 2015. You join the Helldivers, an elite unit fighting to protect Super Earth and spread managed democracy, in a satirical science-fiction war against three hostile factions spread across the galaxy.
Missions are played from a top-down view, alone or with up to three friends in local or online co-op. Each drop sends your squad to a procedurally generated planet with objectives such as escorting civilians, launching missiles, defending positions or retrieving data. Teamwork is essential: ammunition runs low, enemies swarm from every side and friendly fire is always on, so one careless grenade or misplaced airstrike can wipe out the whole team. Communication and careful positioning matter as much as aim.
Your main tools are Stratagems, special requests entered as quick directional codes. They call in reinforcements, supply drops, turrets, vehicles, exosuits and devastating orbital or air strikes. Completing missions unlocks new weapons, armour, perks and Stratagems, letting each player build a loadout for a specific role. The Dive Harder Edition is a free upgrade that bundles all earlier expansions, adds the Proving Grounds mode with challenging modifiers, and introduces random and favourite loadouts.
Beyond individual missions, every player contributes to a community-driven galactic campaign in which planets are liberated or lost over time. Three extra difficulty levels beyond Helldive test even veteran squads, and the content offers more than a hundred hours of play. Blood, violence and mild language are present, and the game is rated 18 (KGRB 18, Germany 12).
