Combat focuses on close-quarters fighting with claws and weapons taken from defeated enemies, such as swords, axes and spears. You can block, counter and build up a rage meter for powerful finishing moves. Kain restores his health by feeding on the blood of enemies, which is central to his survival. Over the course of the adventure he unlocks Dark Gifts such as Mist, which hides him in fog for stealthy attacks, Jump, Charm to control other characters, Fury, Telekinesis and Immolate. Many of these powers are also needed to solve environmental puzzles and open new paths.
Blood Omen 2 is a single-player game with a dark, atmospheric presentation and a strong cast of voice actors, including Simon Templeman as Kain.
