About Mordheim: City of the Damned

Mordheim: City of the Damned is a turn-based tactical game developed by Rogue Factor and published by Nacon. It is the first video game adaptation of Mordheim, the classic skirmish game by Games Workshop set in the Warhammer world. The once rich city of Mordheim has been shattered by a twin-tailed comet, and its ruins are now full of a strange green stone called Wyrdstone. Rival warbands from across the Empire and beyond pour into the city to claim the shards for their masters, and you take command of one of them.

Battles are fought in tight, multi-level streets where every rooftop, alley and broken bridge can be used. Each warrior acts on their own turn, and you decide how far to move, where to climb and when to strike. Positioning matters a lot: attacks from behind and from higher ground hit harder, and a unit caught alone can be overwhelmed fast. Morale is just as important as health, because a warband that loses too many fighters may break and flee. Every fight is a tense struggle to grab Wyrdstone and get out alive.

Between battles you manage your warband like a small company. You can lead hardened human Mercenaries, the zealous Sisters of Sigmar, the cunning Skaven or the mutated Possessed. Warriors gain experience, learn new skills and buy better weapons and armor, but injuries carry over. A lost eye, a broken leg or a permanent death changes your plans for the rest of the campaign. You hire new recruits, pay upkeep, sell the stone you have found and decide how much risk you are willing to take on the next job.

The GOG version focuses on the full solo campaign and includes Hired Swords DLC Bundle 2, which adds extra hired heroes to strengthen your band. The dark art style, the grim score and the ruined architecture make the city feel truly cursed. Mordheim is a deep, demanding game for anyone who enjoys careful tactical choices and a band of warriors that grows, suffers and changes over time. It runs on 64-bit Windows 7, 8 or 10. Gather your warband, enter the ruins and see who leaves the City of the Damned rich.
