About Morphblade
Morphblade is a tactical puzzle roguelike from Suspicious Developments, released in 2017. You control a single shape-shifting blade on a compact hexagonal grid, and the twist is simple but deep: the tile you move onto determines what weapon you become. Every step is both a movement and a choice of attack, so each turn feels like a small puzzle with sharp consequences.
There are six forms to master. Hammer, Blades, Arrow, Repair, Teleport and Acid each behave differently, and reading the grid to chain them together is the key to clearing waves of enemies. Positioning matters on every turn, because enemies close in from all sides and a careless step can leave you exposed. A rating after each wave shows how cleanly you played.
Between waves you shape your own run. Upgrades can be cross-bred and stacked to create surprising combinations, and you build out the grid itself, changing which tiles appear and where. That mix of puzzle logic and roguelike growth keeps every attempt different. The design was inspired by Imbroglio by Michael Brough, and the developers credit him and note that it was made with his permission.
Morphblade runs on Windows and is available in English. Its requirements are very modest: Windows XP or later, a 2 GHz processor, 4 GB of RAM and a DirectX 9 graphics card with 64 MB of memory. Clean visuals and short turns make it easy to pick up for a few waves at a time, while the depth of the upgrade system rewards long sessions. It suits players who enjoy turn-based tactics, compact puzzle design and the steady challenge of pushing a high score just a little further.
