About Perfect Weapon
Perfect Weapon is a classic action adventure with a strong focus on martial arts, originally released in 1996 by Gray Matter and now available on GOG through Piko Interactive. As the game puts it, the ultimate battle is the one you fight alone, and you step into that battle as Kane, a fighter who must rely entirely on his own skill to make it out alive.
Captured and thrown into hostile alien territory, Kane has to fight his way through a series of encounters against opponents from across the universe. The adventure spans five hostile worlds and more than 1,300 rendered environments, a remarkable number for its era that gives the game its distinctive look. Exploration ties the battles together, as you move from one pre-rendered location to the next and gradually push deeper into the strange dimension in search of a way back to freedom.
Combat is built around over 100 realistic martial arts moves, so learning your techniques and choosing the right strike at the right moment is essential. You take on 20 merciless alien species, each with its own way of fighting. A behavioral artificial intelligence, which the developers called BAI, drives the enemies: they fight together and strategically, try to identify your moves and counter-attack, so repeating the same trick rarely works for long and every fight demands attention.
The GOG release runs on Windows 7, 8 and 10 with very modest requirements, supports controllers, offers English audio and text and includes the original 9-page manual as a goodie.
