About RUNGORE
RUNGORE is a real-time card battler with roguelite elements, developed by YOUR_MOM’S_HP and RavenJm and published by GrabTheGames, Gamera Games and UpgradePoint. It was released on 16 May 2024 for Windows. The developers describe it with a short checklist: card game mechanics, real-time battles and silly humour, with hidden memes scattered everywhere. It is heavily inspired by Slay The Spire and Loop Hero and smashes the best parts of both together.
The core idea is a world where you do not need to follow the usual arbitrary rules of card games. There are no turns, and there is no finite pool of mana, energy or action points to limit you. Your hero and the enemies act simultaneously, so battles play out in real time and timing your moves becomes crucial. Strategizing is important, but you also have to do it quickly while the fight keeps moving around you.
Card play is completely unrestricted, so you can play a hundred cards during one encounter if your deck allows it. The game is divided into levels, and along the way you meet different events, find different gear, artifacts and potions, and shape a deck that makes every run unique. A slightly psychopathic tutorial guide introduces the rules with plenty of jokes, setting the tone for the whole adventure.
The full version comes with 13 unique playable heroes, 15 levels, more than 350 unique cards, over 100 different enemies, more than 120 events and over 120 artifacts. More than 30 bosses stand in your way, and a New Game+ mode offers a real challenge for experienced players. The game supports 17 interface languages, full controller support and needs only 120 MB of storage. RUNGORE is rated USK 16.
