About Scrap Mechanic
Scrap Mechanic is a survival sandbox adventure with a ground-breaking building system and physics, developed and published by Axolot Games, with its full release dated 24 July 2026. You take the role of a robot maintenance mechanic who was promised easy money, but the job ends with a crash landing on a faraway agriculture planet where the Farmbots working the fields have gone haywire and thousands of crazed worker robots now roam the land.
In Survival Mode you are thrown into a full story experience across a dynamically generated open world filled with enemies, treasure and abandoned facilities. The powerful creation tools let you build incredible vehicles for exploration, design automated machines or construct a secure home to keep your valuables safe. Farming plays a central role: you cultivate, water and defend crops, and the harvest supplies ammunition for your Spudgun, advanced crafting recipes and rewards. Dynamic encounters with haywire robots let you test your mechanical creations in inventive combat, and at the abandoned mine you can attach drills to a build and dig for treasure and secrets all the way down to the planet’s boiling core.
Beyond the story, Challenge Mode offers the Master Mechanic Trials, a roster of 40 fun and testing challenges, together with tools to create and share your own. Creative Mode hands you more than 400 building parts to make a transforming vehicle, a walking house or anything else you can imagine, and mod support opens the door to over 1000 player-made parts. You can dress your mechanic with clothing pieces unlocked by completing missions, visiting vendors or finding hidden garment boxes, some much rarer than others.
The game runs on Windows 10 64-bit and supports 11 interface languages, including English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Polish. The minimum setup requires an Intel Core i5-1235U processor or equivalent, 8 GB of RAM, Intel Iris Xe graphics or equivalent, DirectX 11, a broadband internet connection and 30 GB of free disk space.
