About Sins of a Solar Empire II
Sins of a Solar Empire II is the sequel to the acclaimed space strategy game, developed by Ironclad Games with Stardock Entertainment and released in August 2024. It seamlessly blends real-time battle tactics with the depth of a 4X game. As both emperor and battle commander, you lead one of six playable factions to victory against the threat of extinction. There are no turns, no separate battle mode and no separate strategic mode: everything happens in one continuous real-time view, from the smallest frigate skirmish to the management of an empire spanning many star systems.
You can zoom in at any moment to control tactical engagements where every missile, turret and ship is fully simulated and plays a real part in the fight, then zoom back out to manage your empire. Every asteroid, moon and planet orbits its parent in real time, so the structure of the galaxy slowly changes, opening new battle fronts and opportunities. You can even view the state of the galaxy up to an hour in the future to plan ahead. A rogue asteroid can carry a hidden fleet behind enemy lines, and a massive titan can body block missiles aimed at your starbase.
It is War Year 35, and three races have had to adapt to survive. The TEC are humans united as the Trader Emergency Coalition, relying on trade to support their industry and adjusting traded resources on demand. The alien Vasari once ruled hundreds of worlds and now use their mastery of phase space to fuel their exodus from an unknown enemy. The deviant Advent, outcast by the Traders long ago, return with technologically amplified psionics and the power of the Unity. Each race has unique starting conditions, units, abilities, items, technologies and its own empire systems.
Tactical depth comes from many angles. Point defence flak frigates can screen fragile long-range cruisers from bombers, while fast ships pick apart unescorted heavy vessels whose turrets cannot track them. Influence lets you sway hostile minor factions to secure your borders or win auctions for powerful items to install on your best capital ship. Time-locked alliances add diplomacy, but watch the clock, because an ally may move his fleet to your doorstep just as the lock expires. Sprawling empires and huge fleets make each match feel epic. The game runs on 64-bit Windows 10 (v1607+) or 11 and supports English, French, Italian, German, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Latin American Spanish and Hungarian.
