About Strange Brigade
Strange Brigade is a third-person action adventure developed and published by Rebellion and released in August 2018. The year is somewhere in the 1930s, and the setting is Egypt. Erased from ancient history and buried in a nameless tomb for four thousand years, Seteki the Witch Queen has risen once again. Only one troop of daring heroes can stand against her fearsome power and her army of mummified monstrosities, and that troop is the Strange Brigade. You explore remarkable ruins, solve perilous puzzles and uncover tantalising treasure while blasting your way through an array of undead enemies, all wrapped in the cheerful spirit of a classic pulp adventure serial.
The campaign hunts the foul Seteki across dangerous dig sites, prodigious pyramids and crumbling caves packed with foes to send back to the afterlife. You travel the ancient world as one of four dashing agents trained to tackle the supernatural, and the matches are playable alone or in teams of up to four. Each agent can unleash devastating magical powers and unload powerful prototype weapons such as the fire-spitting Krakatoa, the ice cold Chill Burster and the brain-busting Blunderbuss.
Seteki is far from the only mythological menace to have awoken, since she brought an army of loyal beasts with her. You face moaning mummies, fire-breathing assassins, armour-plated minotaurs, giant scorpions and much worse. The environment is your ally, so it pays to keep an eye on your surroundings and find creative ways to defeat enemies. You can cut down the undead with spinning blades, burn them with fire traps or crush them with a well placed boulder, and timing a trap just right against a crowd of mummies is one of the most satisfying moments in the game.
Exploration rewards careful players as well. Suspicious clues, secret entrances and ancient contraptions that need to be woken up are hidden throughout each level, and the alluring treasures behind them make every detour worthwhile. Beyond the campaign, two extra modes await. Score Attack puts speed and style first, while Horde mode throws wave after wave of deadly foes at you. The game supports full controller use and Remote Play on TV. It runs on 64-bit Windows 7 or Windows 10 and supports English (full audio), French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian and Simplified Chinese.
