About THRESHOLD
THRESHOLD is a narrative adventure set in a lonely station atop a mountain, developed by Julien Eveillé and published by CRITICAL REFLEX, released on 19 November 2024. High in the mountains, an endless train thunders through a decaying station known as the Border Post, carrying its precious cargo to places unknown. Your job sounds simple: blow a whistle to keep the train on schedule. Keep the pace, uncover a mystery and fight for your last breath, because the air is thin up here.
It is not impossible to breathe in the Border Post, only impossible to catch your breath. Every exertion is another foot in the grave and each blow of the whistle takes its toll, so your only reprieve are air canisters rationed out for good work. The rules of the shift are short and strict: do not speak, do not run and do not look in the train. Just do your job, and it will all be over soon.
There is no shortage of tasks to keep you busy during a shift. You deliver reports, clean the water filter and collect discarded wood, all while trying to ignore a strange smell. Mo, a fellow Border Post worker whose shift is over, will happily come running if you call and answers almost any question you might have, except for one. Your choices matter in a semi-linear narrative where every moment could become a new branching path, or not.
