About Terror At Oakheart

Terror At Oakheart is a side-scrolling pixel horror adventure developed by Tainted Pact and published by Assemble Entertainment. Steam release date: 27 February 2024.

The small town of Oakheart is being stalked by Teddy, a masked serial killer, and as the body count grows it becomes clear that something worse than a man in a mask is pulling the strings. Built like an old slasher movie, the game hands you a rotating cast of townspeople, teenagers and lawmen who search rooms, solve small puzzles, hide and fight back through a series of set pieces. Many of them will not make it to the credits. The pixel art is crude in the best sense, and the violence is frequent and bloody.

  • 80s slasher style – a masked killer stalks the town.
  • Rotating cast – play many different victims.
  • Side-scrolling pixel art – dark, gory and atmospheric.
  • Lovecraftian twist – more than a man in a mask.
  • Short and punchy – fits one or two evenings.

For more pixel-art slasher energy, Party Hard flips the premise and puts you in the killer's shoes, sneaking through parties and avoiding the police. Carrion also turns the horror movie around, letting you play the monster as it escapes a research facility and grows with every victim. SIGNALIS keeps the retro look but is far more cerebral, a survival horror built on radio static, puzzles and fragmented memories. And Little Nightmares trades gore for quiet dread, following a small child through a world of grotesque adults.
