About The Banner Saga 2

The Banner Saga 2 is the second part of Stoic’s hand-drawn Viking trilogy, published by Versus Evil in April 2016. It picks up right after the first game, and if you import your save, the choices you made there decide which heroes are still alive.

As the world crumbles under the Dredge and the darkness behind them, you lead a caravan towards the last safe city. Between turn-based battles on grid boards you manage food, morale and fighters on the road, and make hard decisions in conversations that can cost companions permanently. New characters join, including the Horseborn centaur race, and Grammy-nominated Austin Wintory returns with the score.

Why Buy This Game?

The Banner Saga 2 suits players who want a tactical RPG with a story that genuinely reacts to them. Every loss carries weight, so battles feel tense even on lower difficulty, and the painted landscapes make the long march memorable. Playing the first game beforehand adds a lot, but a fresh start with a preset save is available.

For tight turn-based tactics on small grids, Into the Breach has you defend cities from giant creatures with mechs, where every move is shown before it happens. A more colourful fantasy alternative is Fae Tactics, a pixel-art tactics RPG about a girl and her companions fleeing through a world at war. If permanent losses and squad management are what keep you hooked, XCOM: Enemy Unknown sends your soldiers against an alien invasion where fallen troops stay fallen. And Land of the Vikings brings the Norse theme into a calmer setting, letting you build and grow your own Viking village.
