About The Bard's Tale Trilogy
The Bard's Tale Trilogy is a remastering of the classic 1980s role-playing series, developed by Krome Studios and inXile Entertainment and published by inXile Entertainment in August 2018. The series is one of the godfathers of the RPG genre, and this collection lets you experience the events that led to The Bard's Tale IV: Barrows Deep and The Mage's Tale.
The trilogy contains remastered versions of all three games: The Bard's Tale: Tales of the Unknown, The Bard's Tale II: The Destiny Knight and The Bard's Tale III: Thief of Fate. You create an adventuring party in the first volume and play it across all three, rescuing a city trapped by a wizard, reforging the legendary Destiny Wand and travelling across time and space to confront a Mad God.
All three titles share a uniform playing experience without emulation or compatibility concerns. An in-game manual and bestiary give you the information you need, and quality of life changes include automapping for all three games, spell access, updated equipment and inventory management and the option to play as male or female. Legacy Mode lets veteran players experience the games similarly to how they first played them.
It is a single player game for Windows and macOS. The Windows version runs on Windows 7 SP1, 8.1 or 10 (64-bit) and supports English, French, German, Spanish, Polish and Russian.
