About The Guild II Renaissance
The Guild II Renaissance is a medieval life and strategy simulation developed by Runeforge Game Studio and published by THQ Nordic, released on 28 July 2010. For centuries Europe has been dominated by the church and nobility, who justified their power and wealth on the shoulders of ordinary people. This was the incontrovertible, divine world order, a truly dark era. In the 14th century, however, that order is beginning to transform itself.
Due to trade and commerce, an increasing middle class obtains more and more power and wealth. Entire towns purchase their freedom and new privileges from the nobility. Reading and writing are no longer the domain of the nobility and the clergy, and the invention of printing means information may eventually be spread everywhere. This is the beginning of the Renaissance, and you lead a family line through these changing times, from humble beginnings toward influence.
This edition adds eight completely new professions: mercenary, grave digger, stonemason, juggler, innkeeper, banker, miller and fruit grower. Each opens its own workshops, goods and ways to earn money, so your dynasty can grow through very different careers. New goods, buildings, ambient details and effects bring the medieval towns to life, while an improved title and nobility system lets you climb the social ladder and claim privileges.
All-new scenarios set in Transylvania, the Rhineland and the Alps come with bigger world maps to explore and settle. The AI has been improved, and new options such as God Measures and several difficulty levels let you tune the challenge. The game runs on Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 10 with modest hardware, supports English, German, French, Italian and Spanish, and keeps progress safe with cloud saves. The Guild II Renaissance is rated USK 16.
