Thick As Thieves is a stealth-action heist game developed by OtherSide Entertainment and published by Megabit Publishing, released for Windows on 20 May 2026. It comes from Warren Spector, studio director known for Deus Ex and Thief: Deadly Shadows, and Paul Neurath, executive producer of Thief: The Dark Project and Thief: The Metal Age, so the design leans heavily on classic sneaking, careful observation and inventive solutions.
The setting is Kilcairn, an alternate-history Scottish city in the 1910s where magic and early technology have begun to collide. As a newly minted member of the Thieves Guild, you undertake daring heists to claim precious heirlooms and uncover arcane secrets hidden within the shadow-draped streets. You can work alone or team up with a second player, and the game is built so that both styles feel natural, with each thief covering the other as plans start to unravel.
You play as one of two skilled thieves, the Spider and the Chameleon, each with unique talents and abilities. No heist plays out the same way twice: as you raise the difficulty from Novice to Master Thief, security layouts and guard configurations shift, creating dozens of distinct and highly replayable runs. Every mission is an opportunity, and every opportunity can be approached creatively with stealth, distraction or subterfuge.
Your tools include Slithersap to short-circuit security lights, Smoke Bombs to break line of sight and the Pickpocket Fairy to trigger switches from a distance. This introductory release offers two thieves, two dynamic maps, 6 unique pieces of gear, 3 mission types and 16 contracts across a 4-hour campaign that leads to two of the city’s best-guarded landmarks, with adjustable difficulty and cloud saves. It is rated USK 12.
