In Undertale you control a human child who falls underground into the world of monsters and must find a way back to the surface. Killing is never required: in the unique battle system you can talk, act and negotiate your way out of danger, or fight with timed attacks while dodging enemy attacks in a style reminiscent of top-down shooters. Your choices shape how characters treat you and how the story ends. Original art and a celebrated soundtrack are full of personality, and the story mixes heartfelt moments with plenty of humour. The game contains fantasy violence, mentions of suicide and some coarse language, and includes imagery that may affect players with photosensitive epilepsy.
