About Avernum 3: Ruined World
Avernum 3: Ruined World is an epic indie fantasy role-playing game from Spiderweb Software, the veteran studio behind some of the longest-running classic-style RPG series on PC. It concludes the remastered Avernum trilogy, yet its story is fully self-contained, so newcomers can start here without having played the earlier chapters.
For generations your people have lived in Avernum, a vast underground realm of caves and lakes where the surface empire once exiled anyone it considered undesirable. Now the way to the sunlit world has opened, but the surface is collapsing under plagues of bizarre monsters. You lead a party of adventurers sent upward to find out what is happening and to win your people a future in the light.
The world reacts as time passes. Towns are attacked, refugees flee along the roads and disasters reshape the map, so the order in which you tackle quests really matters. More than 100 towns and dungeons and over 100 side quests fill a huge underworld and an enormous surface continent, with hundreds of magical artifacts waiting to be found.
Combat is turn-based and tactical. You build a party from scratch, choose from more than 60 spells and battle disciplines and pick character traits that shape each hero. Outside battle you are free to live as you like: work odd jobs, become a bounty hunter or merchant, buy a house, or focus on saving the world. A full playthrough easily lasts over 60 hours.

PC Version and Compatibility
Avernum 3 is very light on hardware. On Windows it needs Vista or later, a 1.2 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, a graphics card with 256 MB of video memory and only 500 MB of free storage, so it runs well on older laptops. A macOS version is also available. Interface and text are in English only.
