BATTLETECH puts you in command of a struggling mercenary company in the year 3025, when noble houses wage endless war with giant BattleMechs. On the battlefield you lead a lance of Mechs in turn-based combat, using cover, elevation, heat management and called shots to break enemy armour piece by piece. Between missions you run the business side: negotiating contracts with feudal lords, paying your pilots, repairing damaged machines and upgrading your dropship, the Argo. The story campaign follows a deposed ruler fighting to retake her throne, while career mode lets you build a reputation freely across the Periphery. In the MechLab you refit Mechs with salvaged weapons, and skirmish and multiplayer modes let you test custom lances against the AI or other players.
