About Combat Mission Cold War
Combat Mission Cold War is a tactical wargame developed by Battlefront and published by Matrix Games. Steam release date: 16 November 2021.
Combat Mission Cold War takes you to the years 1979 to 1982, when NATO and the Warsaw Pact were moving from old industrial warfare towards the modern digital battlefield. The game explores what might have happened if the Cold War had turned hot around the Fulda Gap in West Germany. You command company teams and battalion task forces with historically accurate organisations, tanks such as the M60, M1, T-64 and T-80, and air support from F-4 Phantoms, A-7 Corsairs and Hind gunships. There are 15 standalone scenarios and three campaigns: a US campaign in two versions, a Soviet campaign and a National Training Center campaign set in the Mojave Desert. Battles can be played turn-based or in real time on detailed 3D maps.
