About Crab God
Crab God is a cosy underwater colony simulation from Chaos Theory Games, published by Firesquid in June 2024. You become the Guardian of the Abyss and lead the Great Migration that will bring forth the next Crab God. Using your growing knowledge and great power, you command a colony of loveable crab babies called Crablings, restore your ocean domain and protect your successor's egg as you venture deeper into the watery depths. The charming art, gentle pace and clear goals make it an inviting strategy game for relaxed evenings, with enough decisions to keep every dive interesting.
Your Crablings are at the heart of everything. You raise them, nurture their personalities and potential, and watch as they worship you, build mighty coral reefs, fend off threats and collect food for the long journey ahead. Each Crabling can be named and upgraded, and you assign roles such as gardener, scavenger, worshipper, builder or hunter to shape how the colony works. Guided by your mighty claw, they grow into the next generation of ocean caretakers, and a well-organised colony is the key to moving forward safely.
Leading the Great Migration means carrying the egg toward the depths where it can hatch. You must balance the growth of your colony with the safety of the egg, because losing it sends you back to the shallows to start the migration anew. Along the way you reintroduce a healthy, vibrant diversity of life to the ocean and protect it from predators looking for easy prey. Varied sea life sustains the colony, and unlocking new combinations of flora and fauna creates a beautiful underwater environment, from glowing coral gardens to red-hot volcanic seafloors.
Crab God also connects play with the real world. Working with dots.eco, your in-game progress helps contribute to actual ocean conservation efforts, so restoring virtual reefs supports real ones. A later update added Crabling customisation, letting you change colours, accessories and tools and even unlock little fish buddies to keep them company. Full controller support, achievements and cloud saves round out the package. The game runs on 64-bit Windows 10 or newer and supports English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Thai, Turkish and Ukrainian.
