About Endless Legend

Endless Legend is a turn-based fantasy 4X strategy game developed and published by Amplitude Studios, the French team also known for Endless Space and Humankind. It was released for Windows on 18 September 2014 and is set on Auriga, a dying planet whose history is marked by mysterious cataclysms. Every new winter is harsher than the last, and the civilizations that remain must explore, expand, exploit and exterminate to secure their future.

The game is built around asymmetrical factions. Each of the major peoples plays in its own way: the Broken Lords drain Dust to heal, the Cultists rule from a single city and convert minor tribes, the Wild Walkers move through forests with ease and the Necrophages devour their enemies to grow. Choosing a faction changes your economy, your diplomacy and your path to victory, which gives every campaign a distinct identity.

The map is divided into regions, and each region holds only one city, so expansion is a careful decision. Cities grow into districts, gather food, industry, science and Dust, and can absorb peaceful minor factions through quests or force. Seasons alternate between summer and winter, and the cold reduces movement and production. Heroes lead armies, gain skills and equipment, and can govern cities. Battles take place directly on the terrain of the world map, where height, forests and rivers matter.

Each faction follows a narrative quest line with choices that shape its ending, and you can win through conquest, science, economy, diplomacy, expansion, wonders or the faction quest. Up to eight players can compete in online multiplayer. The violence is fantasy combat without graphic detail. The game is rated 12 (USK 12; PEGI 12).
