About FOREWARNED
FOREWARNED is a survival horror game from Dreambyte Games, released in April 2024, in which a team of one to four players heads out on an expedition into haunted ancient Egyptian tombs. You can play solo, gather a group of friends or join a public lobby, and the goal is always the same: investigate the strange phenomena inside, collect treasure, discover lore and survive long enough to banish the evil lurking within. Tense atmosphere, flickering torchlight and creaking stone make every step into the darkness feel risky, which is exactly what horror lovers want.
Each tomb is haunted by one of the cursed Mejai, mummies that physically manifest to stop your escape. Every Mejai has its own characteristics and abilities, so the team must use every tool at hand to identify the name of the mummy haunting the ruins before entering the inner chamber. Once you know what you are facing, you can exploit its weaknesses, avoid its strengths and retrieve the sacred relic, along with any other treasure found along the way. Careful observation and clear communication matter far more than reflexes here.
The game offers twelve unique maps set in richly detailed environments across the Sahara. Each map type contains a procedurally generated tomb with nearly infinite layout possibilities, so no two expeditions are ever the same, and every one hides its own creatures, traps and puzzles. Ancient texts hint at a ritual in the lowest level that can banish the curse for good. Will you give in to greed and delve deeper for treasure of unparalleled worth, or settle for leaving with your life? When you die, you can return as a servant of the Mejai and choose whether to help the survivors or serve your new master.
Between expeditions, gold buys new equipment and upgrades that make your tools more effective, and rare treasure you recover is displayed in your lobby for everyone to admire. More than 150 lore pages wait to be found and transcribed, revealing the story behind the cursed Mejai. Positional proximity voice and a global channel help the group plan, while PC and VR crossplay lets headset owners join with haptic feedback for extra immersion. Player progression, character customisation, archaeological tasks, prestige levels and difficulty options round out the package.
