About Fenimore Fillmore: The Westerner
Fenimore Fillmore: The Westerner is a thrilling and hilarious adventure game in which you enjoy the essence of the Wild West through some of the craziest and funniest puzzles of the genre. Fenimore is a lanky, good-hearted cowboy with more courage than luck, and his journey through dusty towns, ranches and saloons is packed with odd characters and situations that test your wits. Every problem has a solution, but finding it means keeping your eyes open, thinking sideways and accepting that in this version of the frontier the most absurd idea is often the right one.
It is a classic point & click adventure where the different puzzles can be solved in a different order, depending on the skill of each player. You explore wide locations, from log cabins and wooden bedrooms to farms seen from above, and you meet more than 20 characters to interact with. Talking with everyone is highly recommended, because conversations give you the information you need in each situation and often hint at the next step. Picking up and using every item you find is just as important, and with more than 80 objects to collect and combine, your pockets fill up quickly.
Hailed by critics as one of the best adventures of its time, the game was voted best adventure game of 2004 by the magazine The Inventory. The story is brought to life by more than 30 minutes of animations, with expressive characters and slapstick moments that give the cartoon world its comic timing. The HD reissue appeared to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first Fenimore Fillmore game, 3 Skulls of the Toltecs, and it was prepared with care to delight both experienced adventurers and players who are just discovering this classic genre.
The GOG version of Fenimore Fillmore: The Westerner is developed and published by Casual Brothers and runs on Windows. It is available in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Czech, so a wide audience can follow the jokes in their own language. The adventure suits relaxed evenings, since you can take your time with each puzzle, return to earlier locations and test new combinations of items whenever you feel stuck. If you enjoy humour, colourful characters and a good brain teaser with a cowboy hat on, this Western comedy is a great ride.
