About Moros Protocol
Moros Protocol is a pixel painted sci-fi first person shooter roguelite developed by Pixel Reign and published by Super Rare Originals in September 2025. You wake up aboard The Orpheus, a derelict warship lost in deep space and crawling with horrors. You have no memory, only the instinct to fight and a voice you do not recognize urging you forward. The ship shifts around you, the enemies never stop, and survival means battling through blood soaked corridors to uncover what lies ahead. You may be outnumbered, but you are never outmatched, and every run reveals a little more about the ship and the voice guiding you.
The game blends the fast paced combat of classic 1990s and early 2000s shooters with the unpredictability of genre defining roguelites and the challenge of Souls-like boss fights. You battle relentless enemies and towering nightmares in a brutal test of skill and willpower. Tactical combat rewards adaptability and customization: you shape your loadout, and the augments and weapons you find along the way dictate your fighting style. Upgrade stations let you raise weapon levels between fights. And yes, you can kick your enemies, which is as satisfying as it sounds when a creature gets too close in a narrow hallway.
Death is only the beginning. Roguelike progression lets you learn, upgrade and push further into the unknown with each attempt. Every run is shaped by a combination of handcrafted environments and procedural generation, so new layouts and new challenges appear each time and no two runs feel the same. A unique custom renderer gives the decayed warship a gritty, immersive look that blends retro low poly shapes and crunchy pixel textures with modern dynamic lighting. Eerie sound design heightens the tension as you explore locked terminals, steel corridors and gore covered halls lit in deep red.
You can face the nightmare alone, or team up with a friend for backup and experience the full game side by side. Pixel Reign describes Moros Protocol as a passion project that began as a concept in 2010 and took five years of development to bring to life, inspired by classic retro futuristic shooters. The game offers full controller support, including DualShock and DualSense pads, achievements, save anytime, surround sound and cloud saves. It runs on Windows 10 and supports English, French, German, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Italian, Polish, Turkish, Dutch and Ukrainian. The minimum setup calls for an Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 processor, 8 GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, DirectX 10 and 2 GB of storage, so its retro inspired visuals run well on modest gaming PCs.
