About Star Wars Battlefront (2004)
Star Wars Battlefront is the original 2004 action shooter from Pandemic Studios that lets you fight on the front lines of the most famous battles in the Star Wars saga. You do not play a lone hero here: you are one soldier among many, picking a role and charging into massive clashes across the films from Episode I to Episode VI. You can stand with the Rebel Alliance or the Galactic Empire, or travel back to the Clone Wars and fight for the Republic's clone troopers or the Separatist battle droids.
Every soldier class brings different tools to the fight. Infantry carry blaster rifles and thermal detonators, heavy troopers haul rocket launchers to take down vehicles, snipers pick off targets from afar and pilots repair the machines they fly. Any vehicle you see on the battlefield is yours to use, from speeder bikes and snowspeeders to X-wings, TIE fighters and towering AT-AT walkers. You can also man fixed turrets and capture command posts, which become new spawn points and shift the momentum of the battle.
The game takes you to iconic locations such as the frozen plains of Hoth, the forests of Endor, the deserts of Tatooine, the swamps of Naboo and the cloning facilities of Kamino. Galactic Conquest lets you fight across the galaxy planet by planet, earning bonuses for every world you hold, while the Historical Campaigns retell the story of the films through a series of linked battles from each faction's point of view. Quick skirmish battles let you jump into any map you like with your favorite side.
Beyond the single-player modes, this GOG version supports online multiplayer battles for up to 32 players, so you can fight alongside friends or against them in large-scale warfare.
