About Stronghold HD
Stronghold HD is the classic castle sim from Firefly Studios, first released in October 2001. It combines the best aspects of a city builder and a real-time strategy game: you establish your settlement, build your castle and engage in siege warfare to defend your people. Set in medieval Europe, it challenges you to protect your land from invasion while keeping lords, ladies, jesters, chickens and much more in order.
The single-player campaign consists of 21 story-based missions in which you defend against and attack different foes. Beyond the story, you can choose from four separate modes: an economic campaign without combat, sieges of famous historical castles, the Siege That challenge mode that tests your castle-building skills, and a free build mode for peacefully designing your ideal fortress.
Daily life inside the walls matters as much as the battles. You manage the production of food and materials, keep your people content and lay out walls, towers and gatehouses that can hold back an attacking army. When the enemy prepares to storm the castle, every arrow slit and moat counts. A full-featured map and scenario editor lets you create new missions of your own. This package includes the original Stronghold and Stronghold HD, which supports higher resolutions and a new HD battlefield view that shows the entire map.
Stronghold HD runs on Windows and is available in 10 languages, including English, Polish, German, French, Italian and Spanish. It is a great choice for fans of medieval history, players who love building and defending castles and anyone who enjoys city builders with a strategic edge. Raise your walls, fill your granary and prepare for the siege.
