WARTILE is a cooldown-based tactical strategy game developed by Playwood Project and published by Slitherine. Steam release date: 8 February 2018.
WARTILE looks like a board game come to life: every mission takes place on a handcrafted diorama, and your Vikings are painted miniatures moving across hex tiles. Combat runs in real time but is driven by cooldowns, so you choose when to move, strike and use abilities rather than relying on quick reflexes. God cards drawn from Norse mythology can turn a fight, and between missions you upgrade your warband's gear and skills. The campaign mixes raids, sieges and defence missions in varied landscapes from snowy peaks to coastal villages.
