Yuppie Psycho is a 2D survival horror adventure from Baroque Decay, the Spanish studio behind The Count Lucanor. On the store it is sold as Yuppie Psycho: Executive Edition, which is the standard version of the game and includes the free Executive Edition update with additional content. You play Brian Pasternack, a young man with no future in a dystopian society of the 1990s, who somehow lands a job at Sintracorp, one of the largest companies in the world. Uncertain, unprepared and massively unqualified, he soon learns what his position really involves: hunting a witch whose powers made the corporation’s success possible and who now seems to have returned to torment its employees.
Exploration takes place floor by floor. You ride the elevator through the tower, meeting odd colleagues, solving riddles, finding clues and opening new paths, while light sources such as torches and lamps reveal what is breathing in the dark. Encounters with nightmarish creatures are about hiding and escaping, so careful planning and quick thinking matter more than fighting.
The game mixes genuine dread with sharp, darkly comic satire of office life. Watercooler conversations hide disturbing secrets, workplace routines turn sinister, and your decisions shape which of several endings you reach. Its striking pixel art, detailed anime-style portraits and unsettling soundtrack create a memorable atmosphere. It is rated 16 for horror, violence and mature themes.
