About Road 96
Road 96 is a narrative adventure developed by Digixart and published by THQ Nordic. Steam release date: 16 August 2021.
It is the summer of 1996 in Petria, an authoritarian country on the eve of an election, and teenagers are running away to cross the heavily guarded border. You play a series of young runaways, each starting a new trip on foot, hitchhiking, by bus or in a stolen car, with limited money and stamina to manage. Along thousands of possible routes you keep crossing paths with the same colourful characters, from a pair of bumbling robbers and a determined cop to a truck driver and a TV host, slowly piecing together their intertwined stories. Every conversation and decision changes the people you meet and can even influence the election. Short arcade moments, exploration and dialogue choices mix with a 90s soundtrack and a bold visual style, with some violence and strong language.
