About XCOM 2
XCOM 2 is the sequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the award-winning strategy game of 2012, developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games in February 2016. Earth has changed. Twenty years have passed since world leaders offered an unconditional surrender to alien forces, and XCOM, the planet’s last line of defence, was left decimated and scattered. The aliens now rule Earth, building shining cities that promise a brilliant future while concealing a sinister agenda and eliminating all who dissent.
Only those who live at the edges of the world still have a margin of freedom, and there a force gathers once again to stand up for humanity. Always on the run and facing impossible odds, the remnant XCOM forces must find a way to ignite a global resistance. You take command of the Avenger, an alien supply craft converted into a mobile headquarters, and decide where to guide your strike team, how to grow popular support and when to strike back at enemy counter-operations.
Battles play out as turn-based guerrilla combat. Five soldier classes, each with its own skill tree, let you build specific soldiers for your tactical plan. Use concealment to ambush enemy patrols, loot enemies for precious gear and artifacts, rescue VIPs and carry fallen comrades to the extraction point. Powerful new alien species and the ADVENT, enforcers of the alien regime, each pose a distinct tactical challenge. Between missions you build rooms on the Avenger and put your Scientists and Engineers to work on new weapons and armour. Missions take you from the wildlands to the heart of alien-controlled megacities and into the depths of alien installations, with a vast range of maps, missions and goals.
XCOM 2 runs on Windows 7 (64-bit) and is available in 10 languages, including English, Polish, German, French, Italian and Spanish.
