About Shroom and Gloom

Shroom and Gloom is a first-person roguelike double-deckbuilder developed by Team Lazerbeam and published by Devolver Digital, released on 10 September 2026. You fight your way through hand-drawn dungeons crawling with monstrous mushrooms, heading deeper toward the heart of a place called The Gloom.

The core idea is two decks at once. The combat deck keeps you alive in fierce battles, while the explore deck lets you navigate the dungeon, modify your cards and unlock new weapons and abilities. Balancing both decks is what makes each run feel different, because a strong explore hand opens better routes and upgrades for the fights ahead.

Cards here keep growing. Low-level starting cards can be grown into overpowered attacks, and rare cards can be modified into game-breaking super-weapons. The game also favours eating over blocking. You can season, skewer or roast your enemies and then eat them to restore lost health, or throw roasted foes into a pot and cook soups with powerful effects.

Hand-drawn art and animation collide with rich 3D spaces, creating a surreal world of mushrooms and madness seen through your own eyes. Shroom and Gloom is rated USK 12 and suits players who enjoy deckbuilding runs, card synergies and dark humour with a fungal twist.
