It is set on the continent of Uram in the expansive fantasy world of Zoria, which has fallen prey to the brutality of the hellspawn roaming its land. Combat is fluid and turn-based. You lead a diverse team of four heroes, each bringing unique skills and perks to every battle. Attack from close range or distance with different patterns and directions, heal or shield allies with spells and commands, and inflict stuns, immobilisation, damage over time and elemental effects. The environment matters too, so you can use terrain to gain the upper hand or create space between you and the enemy.
Between fights you watch your equipment and vitality, which wear down over time, and rest at bonfires to restock resources. Your outpost grows as you progress: unlocking new wings for its buildings brings resources, quests or items, and you can assign tasks to followers who head out on missions and bring back loot and experience. Developing the right skills also opens previously inaccessible places, hidden treasures and new quests.
