About WarBreeds
WarBreeds is a science fiction real-time strategy game from Red Orb Entertainment, first released in 1998 and now published on GOG by SNEG. In a far-off galaxy, the once Great Empire of Yedda has all but perished in a blight of famine, disease and grisly war. In the aftermath, the four former slave clans have seized the Yedda genetic technology and used it to alter their own DNA.
You command one of these fierce clans and are thrust into a power vacuum where you fight for survival and planetary domination. Each clan has its own skill set, attributes and bio-technological weaponry, and the battles take place on huge yet detailed maps. Optimised resource management keeps the focus on strategy and combat, so you spend your time leading troops into battle.
The real hook is genetic engineering. Defeat your enemies and steal their genetic material to expand your clan’s skills and firepower, then design and customise your warriors in the Gene Lab. More than 35,000 unique combinations are available, armed with lasers, missiles, heat rays and rapid-fire Ion guns. Send them into battle with one of four preset attack formations or create your own.
WarBreeds runs on Windows 10 / 11 and is available in English, with cloud saves and the original manual on GOG.
